Although you can find spiders all over the place in Australia, you’d be hard pressed to find them lurking in the sterile surrounds of a supermarket.
That’s unless you’re Queensland woman Dee Nott, who claimed she found a rather unwelcome guest on the broccoli she purchased at her local Woolworths supermarket.
In what is sure to instill fear in all of humankind, Nott posted a picture of a highly-venomous redback spider apparently lurking in her vegetables on the supermarket’s Facebook page on Saturday.
“I just had a nasty surprise — a live redback spider in my broccoli purchased today at your Runaway Bay store,” Nott wrote. “I am lucky it did not bite me as I washed it. I plan to take in the critter (now frozen) and my receipt tomorrow. I thought I should mention it in case there is an infestation.” Read more…
