INDIO, California — When Kesha surprised everyone during Zedd’s set Saturday night at Coachella, it was much more than just a performance.
Singing “True Colors” — a song about staying true to yourself with lyrics like “I’ll show you my, my true colors/ No, no, no, no I won’t apologize for the fire in my eyes” — she was making a statement: No matter what the outcome of her lawsuit with Dr. Luke, she won’t apologize.
She didn’t speak to the crowd, but really, she didn’t have to.
Two weeks ago, Kesha posted a message on Instagram saying that she refused to take back her allegations against Dr. Luke, whom she has accused of rape as well as verbal and emotional abuse over their decade-long working relationship.
