Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a fast-paced live action cartoon — the kind of series that squeezes in so many jokes per minute that it’s nearly impossible to catch them all on the first go-round.
If you pay close attention, though, you’ll find all kinds of clever gags hiding just below the surface — jokes that reference the show’s own past, the histories of its cast members, and the last series executive produced by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. (That’d be the similarly dense 30 Rock.)
