Pearl Jam have opted out of their North Carolina gig, becoming the latest act to cancel a show in the state because of a law that limits the rights of the LGBT community.
The new law blocks anti-discrimination rules that protected gay and transgender people.
The rock band’s decision comes days after Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Bryan Adams and Boston all cancelled shows scheduled in North Carolina.
The gig was due to take place at the 20,000-capacity PNC Arena in Raleigh on Wednesday.
In a statement on their website, Pearl Jam said they must “must take a stand against prejudice”. Read more…
