In true Vince Gilligan fashion, the Better Call Season 2 finale was full of revelations and cliffhangers, but some of the show’s biggest buzz of late ties back to its Breaking Bad origins. Gilligan and co-creator Peter Gould recently revealed the impending return of a major Breaking Bad baddie — and another character whose guest arc was cut from Better Call Saul.

Better Call Saul is packed with Breaking Bad Easter eggs — even a casual viewer can see them all over the Season 2 poster. So it’s no surprise that Gilligan and Gould used the show to secretly hint at the return of Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), the drug kingpin masquerading as a businessman who used Walter and Jesse to expand his empire.
