An advertising campaign in Australia is trying to break down prejudices and challenge people’s inherent biases by showing that everyone is born equal.
Relationships Australia NSW (RANSW) launched the moving campaign to make people notice the snap judgements they make on a daily basis regarding race, gender, age, religion, sexuality and disability.
The ads shows four people from minority groups in society that are often targeted or marginalised: a Muslim woman, a man with paraplegia, a gay woman and an Aboriginal man. The images list their year of birth and weight at birth along with the powerful words: “Born just like you.” It is a stark reminder that despite everyone’s perceived differences, we are all human.
