Orange Is the New Black is billed as a comedy, but it’s hard to imagine laughing at the end of Season 4’s penultimate episode — possibly one of the show’s most tragic to date.
We’re, of course, talking about the scene in the cafeteria that started with the ladies of Litchfield taking a stand against poor treatment and racial profiling at the hands of the new guards, but ended with Poussey dead on the floor.
Earlier, the leaders of various groups and cliques within the prison tried to plan a coup. It was supposed to be a peaceful protest to demand the termination of head guard Piscatella, but it fizzled after they couldn’t settle on a leader. Read more…
