SINGAPORE — Brands know a good marketing moment. And Joseph Schooling winning Singapore’s first Olympic gold medal ever is a darn good marketing moment.

While many in Singapore woke up on Saturday to news that the young swimmer bested Michael Phelps to clinch gold at the 100m butterfly, companies were quick to jump on the historic moment on Facebook.

McDonald’s started giving away free nuggets:
