Broadway's 'Hamilton' lottery goes online for the winter, breaks the Internet

The revolution will be digitized. At least for the winter.

Broadway’s smash hit Hamilton, which is already sold out for most of 2016 — as it was in 2015 — has made headlines before for its ticket lottery policy: 21 tickets for every show are sold for $10 to winners of an on-site lottery. It costs just a hamilton to see Hamilton this way — which explains the hashtag #Ham4Ham

Additionally, two days a week, Hamilton writer and star Lin-Manuel Miranda does a short performance for the crowd right before the evening lottery. These #Ham4Ham shows have included cast members, crew, fellow Broadway performers, and other famous friends.
