Spokane airport is closed after an airplane slid off a taxiway early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 6 a.m. local time, a United Airlines 737 plane slid off the taxiway and into a snowbank. No injuries have been reported.
There were 175 people onboard the aircraft, Todd Woodard, director of public relations at Spokane Airport, told MashableFlight 812, bound for Denver, was in a holding area when it slid in the icy conditions.
“The aircraft was on a taxiway when it hit some slippery conditions that caused the nose wheel to flip off,” Karen May, spokesperson for United Airlines told Mashable. “Passengers are being transferred off the plane and we are in the process of making arrangements for them to fly out later in the day.” Read more…
