The Smiths was once the anti-establishment angst band of teenage dreams, and now they’re getting into something slightly less cool — city politics.
Legendary frontman Morrissey just announced on his site, True to You, that he was considering a run for mayor of London. Morrissey is an long-time activist in Britain’s Animal Welfare Party. According to Morrissey, the party invited him to be their candidate and he’s strongly considering it. While Morrissey doesn’t have that much experience in managing city systems, or running a powerful bureaucracy, he is very, very famous.
