Fingerprints of suspected Paris attacker found in Brussels apartment

Police found the fingerprints of Salah Abdeslam — one of the most wanted men in Europe for his role in the Paris attacks — in a house raided in Brussels on Tuesday, according to the Belgian federal prosecutor.

The raid, part of an anti-terror operation, ended in a shootout that left one suspect dead and two others fled the scene. Now Belgian officials are speculating that Abdeslam may be one of the people that slipped through their fingers this week.

Police have been on the hunt for 26-year-old Brussel’s native Abdeslam for months after he fled Paris following the attacks. He is believed to have been one of several men with links to the Islamic State who opened fire and detonated suicide vests at three locations in Paris on Nov. 13, leaving 130 people dead and dozens wounded.
