Prince was on Bruce Springsteen’s mind when he kicked off his Apr. 23 show at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, opening with a searing rendition of the late artist’s hit, “Purple Rain.”

Purple lighting washed across Springsteen’s E Street Band during the song, which featured an extended guitar solo from Nils Lofrgren. As the song came to a close, The Boss stepped up to the mic and bellowed, “Prince forever! God bless.”
