LONDON — A document accidentally leaked online specifying which flags will be permitted at the Eurovision venue this year has triggered anger across Europe.
The guidelines, which are meant to keep politics out of the song contest, say that only flags from United Nations members can be flown. The guidelines specifically banned the Islamic State (ISIS) flag, but also included examples of other flags not allowed, like those of Palestine, Kosovo and Crimea.
It said the European Union flag and rainbow flags could be flown as long as they weren’t used to make political statements. Read more…
