It’s been a slow awakening, but Australia’s technology industry may finally be starting to realise it’s been missing half the population.
On Monday, a website called “No thanks, mate” launched, complete with the pledges of seven men — regulars on Australia’s technology and business speaking circuit — who will no longer participate in panels that don’t feature a single woman.
Five of the signatories, Adam Fraser, Jason Fox, Dan Gregory, Matt Church and Darren Hill, have already taken a stand on the issue, speaking with Fairfax Media in early May about their decision to boycott panels that don’t actively promote equality. Now, they’ve made it Internet official. Read more…
