A little less than one month after Sara Ramirez hinted at a possible exit from ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, the actress has confirmed she will be leaving the primetime soap to take “some welcome time off.”
ABC confirmed Ramirez’s departure Thursday night, following the Season 12 finale of the series.
“I’m deeply grateful to have spent the last 10 years with my family at Grey’s Anatomy & ABC but for now I’m taking some welcome time off,” the actress said in a statement. “Shonda’s been so incredible to work for and we will definitely continue our conversations!
