Tens of thousands of people flooded the streets of London Saturday in protest of the UK’s vote to leave the European Union.
The country’s economic and social prospects may have been troubled as they marched from Hyde Park to Parliament, but the puns were still numerous. “We want EU back,” “I can’t live, if living is without EU” and “I will always loves EU” were just a few of the signs on display with a strong streak of gallows humour.
Mark Thomas, a comedian and protest organiser, said the UK should not commit to a Brexit based on the Leave organisers’ distortions of the facts. “We would accept the result of the referendum if it was fought on a level playing field. But it was full of misinformation,” he said. Read more…
