The sheer size of the Chilcot report prompts satire over its last line

After seven years, the highly anticipated Chilcot report into the Iraq war is about to be published.

With its 2.6 million words, the document is the end result of an enormous independent inquiry launched in 2009 by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown into the UK’s involvement in the war in Iraq in 2003. 

While it’s still unknown what it will show, the report’s size has prompted some people to make satirical suggestions about its final line. 

The main focus of this satire is Tony Blair, the former prime minister who convinced Parliament that the war in Iraq was necessary.  Read more…
