Police chief pens passionate letter to fellow officers after Dallas shooting

A police chief in Kenyon, Minnesota has posted a powerful response to Thursday night’s shootings in Dallas that left five officers dead and seven injured.

Writing on his local force’s Facebook page, Lee Sjolander issued an appeal to his fellow officers to stay calm and kind following the events of this week and to remember that “it’s not ‘us vs. them'” when it comes to policing.

His thoughts have resonated far beyond the small city itself, with 2,800 reactions at the time of writing and almost 1,000 shares on Facebook.
