Nowadays, tech moves so quickly that your current hardware can become obsolete rather quickly. And floppy drives died out even before we got anywhere close to the modern pace.
But YouTube user Paweł Zadrożniak has continued the tradition of keeping them alive through music in a grandiose way. Using 64 floppy drives, eight hard disks and some other hardware from the 20th century, he invented a symphony machine which he’s named “The Floppotron.”
This first run of the Floppotron plays the Star Wars opening crawl and the Imperial March, but Zadrożniak has also posted videos of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and the Hawaii Five-0 theme. Read more…
