Turns out, motherhood is not always the best excuse.
On Monday, Australian television presenter Sonia Kruger announced her support for ending Muslim migration into Australia on the breakfast show Today, immediately provoking plenty of backlash and outrage.
After her comments were met with heated discussion on social media, much of which called her out for being racist, Kruger responded using motherhood to justify the diatribe.
“Following the atrocities of last week in Nice where 10 children lost their lives, as a mother, I believe it’s vital in a democratic society to be able to discuss these issues without automatically being labelled racist,” she wrote. Read more…
