He may have written that “brevity is the soul of wit,” but William Shakespeare penned a pretty hefty canon — 38 plays, plus hundreds of sonnets

And now, in honor of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, the first printed collection of his plays is embarking on a tour of the United States.

The First Folio, housed by The Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, will hit all 50 states over the next year, giving fans and scholars alike the chance to see what Folger director Michael Witmore calls “[the] one book to represent Shakespeare” in the flesh. Read more…
