I believe that teaching is about to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom. Students should achieve a sound knowledge not only in theory but also in practical implementation to excel in the course. It is also essential for students to link the course I teach with the other courses. I desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. This also means that I need to do my best to learn, refresh, review, and update my knowledge before delivering it in my class.
Teaching is not just about delivering the course contents but also to promote meaningful learning and lifelong learning to the students. The best way is to incorporate these components into the course activities. While the traditional lecture in class is still effective in delivering the content, I believe that new-age technology and teaching methods will help improve the learning process. Thus, I am incorporating blended learning, cooperative learning, projects, and individual work to engage and activate students learning. I will also do my best to address any questions and responses, whether in or out of the classroom.
I want to inspire students to love learning. My job is not to show them what I know, but to teach them what they need to know. At the end of the day, I hope my students will appreciate that knowledge is learned from the learning journey rather than the final grades.
