Meeting and Research Outcomes
Identified project for collaboration | • Research on the making of soil cover and hydrogel from fibers. • Research on the hydrogel in oil and water separation application. |
Collaboration | • Between UTM-NUT: cellulose hydrogel project. • Due to the interest of several companies in Japan towards oil and water separation, NUT tried to connect them with UTM. • Student attachment/internship. |
Training output | • The Bio-Hydrogel from cellulose fiber has been fabricated successfully. The technique studied will be used in producing hydrogel from other natural fibers. |
Conclusion | • The outcomes from this visit were the beginning to a collaboration between NUT and UTM. Prof Kobayashi expected to be visited UTM in April 2018 for further discussion. |
