23-24 JULY 2019: Get Chartered Workshop
Together with Pro-Q Committee in School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, UTM, we organized a Get Chartered Workshop! The objective of the workshop was to increase the number of Chartered Engineer in SCEE. The aim of the workshop is to motivate and facilitate academic staffs to obtain chartered qualification, the first step of course be an Associate member under Institution of Chemical Engineering (IChemE). New Academia Learning Innovation (NALI 2021)
Bertugas sebagai AJK Penjurian bagi NALI 2021. NALI adalah singkatan bagi New Academia Learning Innovation, yang diadakan secara maya pada 6 – 8 Disember 20021 yang mengetengahkan inovasi dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang menitikberatkan “student-centred learning philosophy”. Antara bidang tugas AJK penjurian ialah menyemak dan membuat pemilihan juri mengikut kriteria yang ditetapkan, memantapkan rubrik penjurian, memberi taklimat kepada para juri mengenai system penjurian dan menganalisa markah penjurian di dalam system.

Meeting and Research Outcomes
Identified project for collaboration | • Research on the making of soil cover and hydrogel from fibers. • Research on the hydrogel in oil and water separation application. |
Collaboration | • Between UTM-NUT: cellulose hydrogel project. • Due to the interest of several companies in Japan towards oil and water separation, NUT tried to connect them with UTM. • Student attachment/internship. |
Training output | • The Bio-Hydrogel from cellulose fiber has been fabricated successfully. The technique studied will be used in producing hydrogel from other natural fibers. |
Conclusion | • The outcomes from this visit were the beginning to a collaboration between NUT and UTM. Prof Kobayashi expected to be visited UTM in April 2018 for further discussion. |
Talk: Recent Rubber Technology
Dr Matthias Jacob is invited to give speech about “Recent Rubber Technology from Industry Point of View” in Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, UTM. He is currently attached to Research and Development Department, Continental Tyre Germany (Continental Reifen Deutschland) since 2011 after receiving his PhD from Martin-Luther-Universitat Halle Wittenberg, Germany.
