Testimonial

Dr Mohd Naz’ri Mahrin is a dedicated and enthusiastic supervisor who is committed towards ensuring that my PhD journey ended successfully. He generously shared his knowledge and experience in his research field to guide me on how to proceed and what to do next. His attention to detail in every aspect helped me a lot when I was conducting my research as well as when I was crafting my thesis. He also allowed me to work according to my own pace without neglecting to monitor my progress.

He is open to discuss and debate any ideas and this “openness” character of his makes me more comfortable and confident on deciding my next course of actions throughout my PhD journey.  He always encourages me to set a high standard for myself to ensure that I will produce quality deliverables that I can put into practise in my field of work.

Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to be supervised under him and hopefully will continue to seek his guidance in future research.

I received my PhD in April 2018 under supervision of Dr. Mohd Naz’ri Mahrin.  I would say that one of a factor that I successfully obtained my PhD is because of a guidance and supports from him. He spends significant amount of time with each of his students to guide them in their research. He is a strict person but at the same time, he gives freedom to his students to manage their own time to work on the research. He never fails to advice and give ideas to his students when we are stuck in the middle of our research work. His knowledge, ideas, enthusiasm and commitment make him distinguish with other lecturers. I am very grateful of having him as my supervisor for my PhD journey.

Dr Noor Azura Zakaria

Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)

Dr. Mohd Naz’ri Mahrin is one of the best supervisors I have ever had. He really gave vigilant contemplation to my ideas and was able to strike the steadiness between stimulating me and encouraging me. He was really involved with what I had written each time and directed me to areas of the discussion that I hadn’t previously thought of. He was at no time too quick in criticism and had never left me feeling like I had little to stand on. Throughout my doctorate journey, he provided me thorough guidance and encouragement. He was a wonderful supervisor in all elements such as: listening, availability, mission-focus/priority-setting, transparency, delegation, and realism. I’m really grateful to him.
