Ir. Dr. Nik Mohd Ridzuan Shaharuddin received his B.Eng. (Mechanical Engineering – Marine Technology) and Ph.D. (Mechanical Engineering) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He joined UTM in 2015 and currently serves as the Director of the Marine Technology Centre (MTC). His research focuses on Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs), particularly in hydrodynamics, seakeeping, manoeuvring, and autonomous navigation systems. He is actively involved in towing-tank testing, hydrodynamic consultancy, and professional training in ship stability and marine CAD design. He received the Excellent Service Award (Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang) – UTM Citra Karisma in 2022.
