Assessment & Evaluation Belief & Practice
In my personal capacity as an academic staff, assessment is a concept that is continuously evolving and my approach to assessment has changed and improved over time.
Presently, when teaching content subjects, I am more keen to embrace Classroom-based Assessment (CBA) whereby assessment is conducted to suit the learning that has taken place in the classroom for a period of time.
Both assessments for learning (Formative Assessment) and assessment of learning (Summative Assessment) are covered in my courses at UG and/or PG levels.
These assessments, of course, are in line with the CLOs outlined earlier in my CI. It is sufficient at this point to say that, presently, my CLOs determine the type of test as well as the test items designed.
As future English teachers, the CBAs conducted thus far aim at providing the students the opportunities to employ what they have learned in the classroom to be applied later when they themselves become professionals.
