On 3rd to 6th April 2017, researchers of Transroyal Geo-Sustainability RB Education group joined a scientific expedition to Sungai Tiang, Royal Belum. The trip aimed to identify opportunities for self-improvement, self-development and participation in the society as equals (develop self-efficacy module) among the Orang Asli children for their better education. During the trip, a pilot study on Orang Asli children was carried out by using developed modules for self-efficacy as well as for the improvement of teaching and learning (T&L) in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). The Orang Asli kids learn in different way than urban kids as they learn through the indigenous language, arts, ritual’s, folklore and taboos without having a fixed syllabus and timetable of learning. The great challenges and issues surrounding orang asli community, specifically on education include various perspective contributed by both internal and external factors. The programme focused on Orang Asli children who are attending primary schools within Royal Belum area. This study used a self-efficacy method approach by collecting, analysing and integrating quantitative and qualitative data. Observation was carried out on students participation and active learning in science and technology subjects. During the activities, teachers, counsellor and trainers have been provided with tools to improve the education skills for the Orang Asli children for better understanding. The findings of this study will be used to propose relationships between self-efficacy, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) teaching and learning (T&L).
