Mohammadreza Vafaei (PhD, P.Eng., M.ASCE, M.EERI, ) is currently an associate professor in the Faculty of Engineering, School of civil engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. As a Professional Engineer previously serving a consultant company in Iran, he has been involved in several forensic investigations and seismic retrofit works following earthquake events in Iran since 2003. His expertise includes seismic design of special structures like tower and bridges, seismic rehabilitation, damage identification, nonlinear structural analysis.
