About Me

Ts. Dr. Nurul Ashikin Binti Abdul Kadir, joined UTM as an academician since January 2019. She completed her Ph.D degree from Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) at UTM in the year 2017. Later in the same year, she enrolled as a post-doctoral researcher of an industrial grant sponsored by CREST Sdn. Bhd. which led by a private company, FlexTTech Innovation Sdn. Bhd. in collaboration with UTM, Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), and QDos Flexcircuit Sdn. Bhd. As she received the academician offer from UTM in her second year of post-doctoral fellowship, she embraces both responsibilities as teaching is her tremendous passion.




She completed her Ph.D degree from Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FKE) at UTM in the year 2017. Her thesis entitled Human Heart Oscillatory Behaviour for Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Detection based On Second Order Dynamic System. Her high impact publications for the thesis are included in Elsevier publisher of International Journal of Cardiology, and Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine in the year 2016.

Not only that, she also received several recognition, which include; The Best of The Best Award at INATEX2015, Gold Medal Invention Award at INATEX2015, Runner-Up Postgraduate Student Travel Award at WiCAS2015, UTM Graduate Supervision Grant for ICSyS2015, and UTM Non-Graduating Student Award for WACBE2015.


Other than that, she also involved in international programs. In 2016, she received a financial aid from Japan Science and Technology Agency to explore the research, culture, and technology at Japan. Besides that, she was one of the delegates for Sakai-ASEAN Week 2015 by Sakai City Government of Osaka, Japan. This event aims to strengthen solidarity and cultural exchanges of ASEAN countries. It benefits her to gauge a better understanding from other participants, and in a way to contribute back to the society in general.

Nevertheless, she has assisted undergraduate and postgraduate students of the FBME and FKE during her ph.D study and research environment. Through these experiences, she belief in herself to contribute to the Malaysia education in the field of teaching and research.
