Yesterday, our team was at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Gintong, Jerantut, Pahang. The location was behind Pahang river, a location prone to floods. (20+) Sekolah Kebangsaan Gintong | Facebook The visit was part of our community project to enhance ICT usage – Program Mesra Teknologi Bersama Murid-murid.

For my part the introduction to micro:bit (a microcontroller) was delivered to 11 school children; as the school has small numbers of students which is less than 20, around 16 or 17 students only. My mind was wondering how do you grow and feel learning in a school with small numbers of students and friends. But the kids were pampered I would say, and they got the best attention from the total of 8 teachers in the school. They were very deligent and have high concentration of the two hours plus session. I was very much satisfied and pleased!

The module was a supplement to enforce the RBT subject for standard 5-6 syllabus, where microcontollers are now introduced to 10-11 year old students, a steap upgrade from my old previous times, where only engineering students were afforded to program such small computing devices. Teachers also were involved, as they worked with the coding together, and they were given the basic concepts of computing and programing these small computing devices.
