The International Journal of Innovative Computing (IJIC) is an open-access journal aimed to provide coverage of high-quality, peer-reviewed original research and review articles of interest to academic and industrial researchers in all areas of computing. Submissions must be clearly written and make a significant technical contribution. The International Journal of Innovative Computing publishes online two times a year in June and December.

I submitted my paper to IJIC already, how about you? Participate yourself in the publication of IJIC to expose your research to the UTM community and also the public.

There are several tips to select a journal, either it is ISI indexed journal or Scopus indexed journal. First of all, navigate to the website of Scopus to check for Scopus-indexed journal list and Clarivate for ISI-indexed journal list. Afterwards, you can type in the journal name or ISSN to view the journal details. For example, if you want to know either a journal is Scopus-indexed; click the Sources tab and type in the journal name such as “International Journal of Integrated Engineering” and the details of the specific journal will appears. If a journal is not listed, probably meaning that the particular journal is either not indexed in Scopus or it is in the process to be-indexed. You can always browsing the Scopus website to check their update list of the covered journal and the discontinued journal list. For the ISI-indexed journal lists, the same technique can be used, type in the journal name and search for the details.

What is MBOT?

Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) is a professional body that gives Professional Recognition to Technologists and Technicians in related technology and technical fields. Based on Act 768, MBOT expands its function vertically and horizontally whereby MBOT looks at technology-based profession that cuts across discipline based from conceptual design to a realized technology and covers from Technicians (with SKM/Diploma Level) up to Technologists (Bachelor’s Degree level and above). As a whole, these professionals (Technologists and Technicians) have integrated roles from concept to reality (https://www.mbot.org.my/about-us/mbot/).

Do you know about eXtended Reality (XR)? XR is a specific terminology referring to (1) all real-and-virtual integrated environments consisted of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) under the multidisciplinary field of study – Human-computer interaction (HCI). In this context, AR is mostly used to explain the environment where a human is interacting with virtual objects or elements that overlay the real environment/scene (Milgram and Kishino, 1994; Azuma, 1997; Mekni and Lemieux, 2014).

Due to the rapid growth in XR field, there are several communities that specifically focus on the emerged XR technologies.
