International Undergraduate Research Conference 2024

The International Undergraduate Research Conference (IURC2024) was held on 7th January 2024. This conference is held annually since 2017 and it offers an exciting platform for final year students to showcase their completed research as part of their undergraduate coursework.

IURC 2024 provides an excellent platform for these young researchers to demonstrate their communication skills, enhance their work readiness, meet students from other disciplines, learn how other disciplines approach research and learn problems. Additionally, IURC2024 will be the programme for the students to share their thoughts and exchange ideas on how to chart their journey forward to reach new heights.

UTM-GnG – Chosun University, Korea International Colloquium 2024 (Series 1.0)

UTM-GnG hosted a research colloquium on Geomatics Engineering with Chosun University (조선대학교) in UTM Skudai on 5 January 2024. This GnG-Korea Colloquium enables researchers and students to showcases not only their specialized research in their respective surveying fields but also allowing us to discuss and exchange knowledge as well as setting the future cooperation in between the universities in the international arena.

UTM HYDRO III – COMPLEX MULTIDISCIPLINARY FIELD PROJECT (CMFP)

This is an intensive field practical programme to the UTM HYDRO III CAT A students to conduct hands-on application relates to the theories and laboratory exercises learn from their classroom. This CMFP module serves as a platform to train the hydrographic surveyors professionally in line with the latest marine technologies in hydrographic surveying. The comprehensive survey operation starts from survey planning, establishing vertical and horizontal controls and data acquisition (e.g. SBES, MBES, SSS, etc.) in their field survey operation. Besides that, the students are exposed to sophisticated hydrographic processing software to process their bathymetric data in the office and eventually to produce a nautical chart. At the end of the CMFP module, the students are required to showcase their results and analysis, and then submit a comprehensive field survey report. Well done to all the candidates of UTM HYDRO III intake 2023 for delivering this splendid work.
