Dr. Lee Ting Hun is a leading authority on edible bird’s nests and swiftlet ranching in Malaysia. He established and currently heads the dedicated research unit at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, pioneering the field within the country.

Dr. Lee boasts a distinguished career marked by impactful research and industry contributions. He has led over 20 government and private sector projects exceeding RM2 million, while authoring more than 30 highly regarded publications encompassing journals, conferences, seminars, books, and book chapters. These publications have garnered over 1555 citations, with an h-index of 18 and an i10-index of 25, reflecting their significant influence within the field.

Beyond research, Dr. Lee is a prolific inventor. Over a decade, he has developed innovative processes and products related to bird’s nests, nutraceuticals, and cosmeceuticals. His dedication has been recognized through prestigious awards like the Malaysian Scientist Award and the Geneva Invention and Innovation Award.

Dr. Lee’s expertise extends to industry standards. He co-authored the Malaysian SIRIM standards for both Edible Bird’s Nest and Swiftlet Ranching. Furthermore, his knowledge is highly sought after, leading to his recent appointment as Malaysia’s Bird’s Nest Expert.

Dr. Lee’s commitment to excellence is further exemplified by his election as a Chartered Member of IChemE, the premier qualification for chemical, biochemical, and process engineering professionals.
