UTM Trans-Disciplinary Research Grant

Alhamdulillah, I was granted with the UTM Trans-Disciplinary Research Grant (TDRG). It is a combination of 4 Projects under 1 Program. My project is classified under social science cluster.

Program : ASSET INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR AGEING PETROCHEMICAL PLANTS IN MALAYSIA

Project Title : Educational Framework of Safety Awareness Culture on Ageing Petrochemical Plants

This study aims in analysing the potential risk possessed by the ageing petrochemical plant and the current safety awareness culture adopted by industrial practitioner. The perception of the society on safety awareness culture will then be identified. These findings will be integrated into Ageing Plant Index to develop an index for evaluating integrity level of ageing petrochemical plant. Additional output from my project will be an educational material to be used as a part of safety awareness culture for the society.

I’m very excited to conduct this project, as this brings me back to my alma mater (working in oil and gas industry). This study will be conducted on one of the petrochemical plant in Paka or Kerteh, Terengganu, which is one of the most beautiful state in Malaysia. You will find beautiful beaches and very polite culture among the residents there.

Hence, I’m looking for a Master’s degree candidate, full-time research, with allocated monthly allowance of RM1500 to be a part of this great project. You will have the chance to be working with oil and gas industrial practitioner and engage with the society. It’s fun and full of adventure.
