New Programme Initiated – the DLS!

We refused to stay put and do nothing!

We will start a new programme this month – the DISTINGUISHED LECTURE SERIES – where we invite prominent professors around the globe to share their expertise with us and of course, the rest of the world. It is our way of saying let’s turn this COVID-19 calamity into a greatest opportunity ever!

Twelve distinguished professors will be on live telecast through our UTM Engineering Facebook page. Mark your calendar!

Mediteg becomes MEDITEC!

The research group MEDITEG that I established in 2006 is now a Centre of Excellence! Alhamdulillah.

The first Director is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ardiyansyah Syahrom (blue cap). He was my PhD student graduated in 2009.

RTI International Workshop

23-24 October 2017 @ Marriott Putrajaya

Future of Jobs vs Jobs of the Future. The session started with a question – why do you choose to be lecturers? Is it because it is a “safe” and “relaxed” job? Not as risky and requires hard work like those in industry? This could well be the reason that it is difficult to get real impact from university-industry relationship.

The cost of technology is going down at an amazing rate. These technologies will drive the future. Can you enhance existing technologies so that they will be a lot cheaper in the future?

Self test for all of us to answer honestly. Maybe we have engagement with industries, but to what extent?

Things to ponder upon…
