My name is Wan Ibrisam Fikry bin Wan Ismail. I’m married with 9 children. I’m a senior lecturer at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
I’ve received my bachelor degree in Urban & Regional Planning from The University of Southwestern Louisiana (now is known as The University of Louisiana), USA (1986) and my master degree in Regional & Community Planning from Kansas State University, USA (1988). I just finished my PhD in Land Administration & Development from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2015).
I’ve been teaching since 1996. My interests are on the rural & small town planning, land administration & development, rural land policy and waqf land or property (endowment). My latest research was on the issues related to the paddy land in Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) in the state of Kedah.
I have gained some experiences from various agencies throughout my career. I was a Fellow at Pusat Pengajian Perumahan, Bangunan dan Perancangan, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang (1991-1995). I was a Research Officer at Pusat Penyelidikan Dadah dan Ubat-Ubatan, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Pulau Pinang (1990). I was also a Temporary Teacher at Sekolah Menengah Vokasional Tanah Merah Kelantan (1990). I managed to be a Site Supervisor at PM Trading Company (Bahagian Kontrak), Lot 2441, Batu 4 1/2, Jalan Pasir Puteh, Kubang Kerian, Kota Bharu, Kelantan (1989). I have been a Quality Control at California Fish Growers, Rohnert Park, California (1988). I was a Pizza Delivery Man at Mary’s Pizza, Rohnert Park, California (1988). I was also a Desk Control Officer at Double Decker Corporation, P.O.Box 3139, Rohnert Park, California (1988).
