PSM 1 Presentation 2017
PSM 1 (Final Year Project 1) proposal presentation was conducted on 6th June 2017. This year, a total of 36 students presented and defended their proposals. Wish you all the best for your PSM and see you next semester!


IBCEx 2017
The 3rd IBCEx (International Biotechnology Competition and Exhibition) was successfully conducted on 15th April 2017.

International Food Safety & Security Workshop 2016
International Food Safety & Security Workshop 2016 was held on 20th November 2016, in UTM KL, in conjunction with the The 9th Regional Conference on Chemical Engineering (RCChE 2016).
The workshop was organized by Food and Biomaterial Engineering Research Group (FoBERG), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in collaboration with Asia Pacific Institute of Food Professionals (APIFP).

I’m looking for a Masters or PhD (full research) candidate to work on the following topic at the Faculty of Chemical & Energy Engineering, UTM Skudai.
“Metabolite profiling of engineered E.coli producing xylitol”
Requirements:
-background in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Bioprocess/Chemical Engineering or any related science or engineering field (min CGPA 3.00).
-interested to work in a multidisciplinary area. This work will involve cell culture, analytical chemistry, cell biology, statistics and/or bioinformatics.
-strong research and analytical skills.
Student will be funded RM1300-RM1500 (MSc) or RM1800-2000 (PhD) per month, with an opportunity for a short-term overseas attachment.

This test will cover Chapters 1-5. You are not allowed to use any references during the test.

‘Colour Theory and Colour Application in Chemical Industry’ Seminar by Dr. Roy Lau
Dear colleagues,
We would like to invite you to ‘Colour Theory and Colour Application in Chemical Industry’ seminar which will be held on Thursday, 28th January 2016. This seminar is a collaboration between Sime Darby Bhd. and Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
The seminar is a half day event (from 8.30am to 12.00pm) and free of charge as the event is fully sponsored by Sime Darby Bhd. Certificate of attendance will be provided to the participants.
Dr. Roy Lau, from HUNTERLAB, Hong Kong, who has over 10 years’ experience in colour measurement applications, will fly to Malaysia specially to give the presentation on this topic.
His technical talk will feature an in-depth presentation on colour measurement and how it affects the quality and consistency of the product.
