I am rather perplexed as to how ‘manja’ some of our students are nowadays.
One of my academic advisees messaged me with a problem with registration a couple of days ago. I called the relevant officer in charge, and was given the names of the person who would be able to help at the administration office.
I give the specific name of the actual person who would be able to help, and where she could be located.
This morning I get another message from the student. Asking me if I had the phone number of said person.
Look, I’m not against helping, and in the case of this student, I am her academic advisor. But that does not make me her PA for finding out or doing things she could do herself at the academic office. Especially when the others could do it with no problem.
Just go to the office. Meet the person that I said could make the change. Make the change.
Grow up.
