Background 

I am currently an ESL teacher at a Secondary School, SMK Damai Jaya, Skudai.I have been attached with the Ministry of Education for 13 years since 2002.It has been my passion to pursue this line as I love integrating literature in the syllabus to inculcate values along with the language to develop a child as a whole. Morever, am fond of debating in Parliamentary Style and was a State Champion for English Debates consistently from 1995 till 1998 during High School. In 2005, was the National Champion for the Malay and English Debates among Teachers and awarded a distinction of honour for it. English is Language that I believe should be taught through a fun mode .Hence ,in 2006, narrated and conducted a play ‘ Hamlet’ by Shakespeare in UPSI where the script was edited and modified by me by adding vocabulary and humour elements that suited our current scenario and it was staged well without any hurdles . My group was honoured for our credibility and ability to perform something that differed from others. I was then intrigued by technology when I was posted to a semi urban school where 90 % of the students could not converse in English leading me to master theirs in order to teach. It was my exploitation of various resources better known as teaching aids that lead me to realize that Multimedia is currently the in-trend method to teach and pique the current generations’ interest to master the language not merely by the memorizing technique. Therefore, this triggered me to pursue my research in literary classrooms by studying ‘The Effectiveness Task Based Approach through the Integration of Multimedia in the Teaching and Learning of Literature (Poem).
