My Daughter and GDD

with No Comments

The term ‘developmental delay’ or ‘global development delay’ is used when a child takes longer to reach certain development milestones than other children their age. GDD involves delay in fine and gross motor skill such as crawling, walking, speech delay, learning new things and interacting with others socially and emotionally.

After doing MRI, my daughter has been diagnosed with GDD. Now she is undergoing therapy and treatment with public and private hospital. The most important part in handling with GDD kid is patience. Dont give up and keep praying. Now my daughter shows improvement from time to time. Now she is able to walk normally (after several therapies with physiotherapist and OT). Now I am waiting her to speak and at least able to call me “mama”. However i am still lucky because she still can communicate with me. Without voice we still can interact with our GDD childs. By nature mother will understand her child in whatever situation. Believe me, mother’s instinct will always facilitate our disable child. So mama keep praying and supporting your GDD child.  Remember child is an unique gift which offering as different as their fingerprints.
