What is phytochemicals?
Phytochemicals can be classified into 5 major groups of compounds. Each herb has its own unique chemical composition of those compounds. Therefore, scientists and researchers would like to profile the phytochemicals in order to have better understanding about the herbs. The current research challenge is to discover the marker compound of each herb to prevent the problem of adulteration.
