“No Single-Use Plastics” Campaign@UTM

We are pleased to announce that starting from 1 January 2020, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) will beef up and monitor the “No Single-Use Plastics” or “Prohibition on the Usage of Single-Use Plastics” Campaign within the entire campuses of UTM Johor Bahru and UTM Kuala Lumpur.

The aforesaid campaign is aimed at raising the awareness of the prohibition against using single-use plastics such as plastic food/drink containers, plastic straws, plastic bags, and plastic spoons/forks. Besides, the campaign and prohibition aim to support the “Zero Waste Program”, in line with UTM’s adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals.

As a good practice, we strongly encourage the campus community to bring their own container when taking away food/drink.

The University hopes that all staff, students, business operators and suppliers are well aware of this campaign and prohibition and anticipates the cooperation from all parties to make the program a success.

Kami Prihatin.
We Care.
