Course Synopsis

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is becoming increasingly popular because it can perform variety of operations including surveillance, mapping, reconnaissance, monitoring, data collection and rescue operation. This course is a well-paced programme that takes you on a path to theory of flight, aircraft design, UAV Regulatory Framework, fabricate and fly a low weight, low cost and small size UAV. It involves both classroom and outdoor flying sessions to train you to become a proficient pilot. Students also learn about the software that civilians use for mapping, learn how to use mission planner to create missions, logbooks, and documentation and which regulations are applicable. At the end of this workshop, it is expected that participants will be ready to practice knowledge from this training in a daily routine of work. The course is offered in a mixed format consisting of face-to-face lectures, workshops and flight testing.

Entry requirements

No special entry requirements, however, this course does involve scientific and technical knowledge. It is helpful if the participant have prior scientific and technical knowledge.
