Background

Prof. Dr. Norasikin Othman joined UTM at the Chemical Engineering Department in 1992. In 1997, she completed her Master in Chemical Engineering, and pursued her doctorate studies in 2002-2006 at the UTM and her PhD work focused on the recovery of metal using emulsion liquid membrane process. As a dedicated lecturer in the Chemical Engineering Department, she has an ability to teach various subjects of Chemical Engineering. She has also supervised more than 10 master and PhD students, more than 50 undergraduate research projects as well as numerous final year plant design projects.

Prof. Dr. Norasikin’s main research are solute/metals extraction from liquid waste solution and purification of organic acid using liquid membrane technology and solvent extraction processes. Currently she is full member of Centre of Lipids Engineering and Applied Research (CLEAR) and researcher at Ibnu Sina Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (Ibnu Sina ISIR) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
