Sr Dr. Mohd Saidin Misnan, MRISM, MRICS, MIVMM, CQS
Sr Dr. Mohd Saidin Misnan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Quantity Surveying, Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying (FBES), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He graduated with a B.QS (Quantity Surveying) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, MSc. in (Project Management) from Universiti Sains Malaysia and PhD in (Facilities Management) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Started a career as an academic and Consultant Quantity Surveyor in 1994 especially lecturing in project management, safety management, facilities management, and professional practice. He is a Consultant Quantity Surveyor, Board of Quantity Surveyor, Malaysia (BQSM), Member of the Royal Institutions of Surveyor, Malaysia (RISM), (Professional Surveyor), Chartered Surveyor, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor (RICS, UK), Member, Institute of Value Management, Malaysia (IVMM)and a Certified HRDF Trainer. He is currently Deputy Director (Occupational Safety and Health) Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and was previously a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor (HSEA), Lab Manager, Safety & Health Officer (SHO), Facility Manager and IT Manager at the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying. He is also supervising numerous postgraduate research students at the MSc. and PhD level. He was the recipient of the Chancellor Award in 2009 for his PhD studies.
Saidin is currently the Academic Editor for International Journal of Environment and Climate Change, Editorial Board member for Safety & Health at Work, International Journal of Reflective Research in Social Sciences, CSID-Journal of Infra Structure Development CSID-JID, Int. Journal of Forensic Engineering and Management, FutureTech International Journal of Science and Technology, Journal of Engineering, Design and Technology, Online Journal of Environmental Science and Natural Resources, Multidisciplinary Journal of Contemporary Studies and American Journal of Environmental Sciences. He is a frequent reviewer for 16 international journals and has been appointed as international scientific and technical committee for several international conferences.
Over the years since 1997, he is a regular trainer and facilitator and has active conducted many short courses to the industries in the area of construction entrepreneurship, project management, safety management, and facilities management for the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), other government and private sector agencies. His areas of specialisation include project management, construction safety management, facilities management, and quantity surveying and professional practice. Sr Dr. Mohd Saidin Misnan also involves in various consultancy projects as Consultant Quantity Surveyor for government and private projects.
