Under the banner of “POWER OF WOMEN: LEADERS AND INNOVATION SOLUTION THINKERS,” a forum held today highlights the active involvement and remarkable achievements of women at UTM in contributing to technological advancements, sustainable development, decision-making, leadership, and organizational integrity. In a rapidly modernizing world, women play a crucial role in various spheres, showcasing their abilities, resilience, and courage in overcoming diverse challenges.

Nevertheless, it is imperative to acknowledge that women continue to face obstacles, including wage inequality, discrimination, and limited access to education and employment opportunities. On this International Women’s Day, a collective commitment is called for to persist in the pursuit of gender equality, ensuring that every woman has an equal chance to thrive and realize her full potential.

Addressing Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality

A spotlight is cast on Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5), which symbolizes a global commitment to securing equal opportunities, freedom, and rights for every individual, irrespective of gender. At the heart of today’s forum discussions, SDG 5 serves as the guiding principle for recognizing the pivotal role of women as leaders and innovative solution thinkers.

Gender equality is not only a moral imperative but also the cornerstone for achieving holistic sustainable development. SDG 5 underscores efforts to empower women across various fields, with particular emphasis on ensuring equal access to education. Education, identified as the key to empowerment, is also a catalyst for unlocking women’s leadership potential and fostering innovation for a brighter future.

In expressing gratitude to women who have made significant contributions to society, family, and the nation, this International Women’s Day encourages collective participation in raising awareness about women’s issues and building a more inclusive and just society for all.

In conclusion, let us celebrate the diversity, strength, and uniqueness of women not only on International Women’s Day but every day. Together, we can usher in positive change and build a better world for generations to come.

Once again, Happy International Women’s Day 2024 to all women, especially those at UTM, and around the world!
