Ir. Dr. Shamsul Sarip, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (FAI) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), stands as a distinguished champion in the realm of sustainable energy. His expertise spans a wide spectrum, encompassing renewable energy sources such as solar, hydro, and tidal power. Dr. Shamsul is particularly recognized for his groundbreaking work in Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) technology and the development of micro and pico hydro turbines tailored for remote areas. His multifaceted proficiency extends to sustainable design, engineering, and the innovative commercialization of clean energy solutions.
A holder of a Ph.D. in Engineering from University of Bradford, U.K, Dr. Shamsul’s academic achievements are further underscored by his status as a Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and active membership in the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM).
