First XPDC to One Fathom Bank on 28 – 30 November 2016

One Fathom Bank (2°53’N., 100°59’E.) is a detached patch, with depths from 3 to 10m, which extends 5 miles in a NW direction reaching 1 mile in width. One Fathom Bank Light is situated 0.6 mile from the SE extremity of the bank.

A stranded wreck is situated about 0.7 mile NW of the light.

“And from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Prostrate yourselves not to the sun” nor to the moon, but prostrate yourselves to Allaah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him” (Fussilat 41:37)

Salaat al-Kusoof is Sunnah mu’akkadah (a confirmed Sunnah) according to the consensus of the scholars. The daleel (evidence) for this is the Sunnah reported from the Messenger of Allaah SAWS (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

During the time this verse was revealed, mankind had no idea that in the future things other than animals could be used for transportation. That is why Allah states in this verse: He has created (other) things of which you have no knowledge. In fact, the history shows that mankind has continuously discovered new methods of transportation. At any given point of time, a few means of transportation were always unknown. This verse thus is true for all generations of mankind. (The Quran, 16:8)

He created the horses, mules and donkeys for you to ride and [as] adornment. And He creates that which you do not know.
